Race To Zero is a global campaign to rally leadership and support from businesses, cities, regions, sectors and investors for a healthy, resilient, zero carbon recovery that helps prevent future threats, creates decent jobs, and unlocks inclusive, sustainable growth.

As of July 2021 it had already mobilized a coalition of leading net-zero initiatives, representing 3,067 businesses, 733 cities, 173 of the biggest investors, 31 regions, 624 higher education Institutions and 37 healthcare services.

These ‘real economy’ players have joined 120 countries in the largest ever alliance collectively committed to achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 at the latest. Together they represent nearly 25% of global CO2 emissions and over 50% of global GDP. While participation is already high, the number of new participants is expected to rise significantly in the run up to COP26.

The initial objective for this initiative is to align industry support and advance the creation of a Net Zero Pledge for the Events Industry for launch at the time of the COP26 Conference to be held in Glasgow from October 31 to November 12, 2021.
